Nestled at Colombia 1373 in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood, this enchanting cafe is more than just a spot for coffee; it’s a haven for coffee aficionados and a charming slice of local culture.

At Cafe Oro Verde, the rich aroma of freshly roasted beans wafts through the air, beckoning you to step inside. The moment you walk in, you're welcomed with a cozy atmosphere where you can feel the passion for coffee radiating from every corner. Owner Wenceslas is a fixture in the Puerto Vallarta coffee scene, and his wealth of knowledge and warmth make every visit an experience to remember. The menu offers a delightful variety of options, whether you prefer a classic Americano, a velvety espresso, or even a refreshing iced mocha crafted from local chocolate—an experience that tantalizes the taste buds with each sip.

Don’t just take our word for it—Frank Hannig shares, “This is my favorite place for coffee and beans in Puerto Vallarta,” highlighting the personalized service and quality that keep visitors returning. Melody C echoes this sentiment, urging coffee lovers to discover this gem: “Cafe Oro Verde is definitely worth going out of your way for,” emphasizing Wenceslas's welcoming nature and the transparency of seeing the roasting process up close. Melinda Price-Wiltshire further adds to the praise, noting the difference in quality of beans once you’ve experienced Cafe Oro Verde’s offerings, “It’s dark and rich and so much better than the schlock I’ve been drinking since I got here.”

Visiting Cafe Oro Verde is not just about coffee; it’s about the experience, the community, and the conversations you’ll have while sipping your brew. Ken Shanoff fondly refers to it as “a true old Vallarta experience,” complete with Wenceslas’s entertaining stories that turn every visit into a delightful encounter. Brenda Havens captures the essence beautifully—it's the intoxicating aroma that seduces you from a block away and the wide selection of beans that makes it perfect for picking up local flavors to take home.

If you’re in Puerto Vallarta, make **Cafe Oro Verde** your coffee pilgrimage. Whether you're grabbing a quick cup to-go or taking a moment to savor the ambiance, you're in for a treat. Trust us when we say, once you visit, you’ll find it hard to settle for anything else.

This is my favorite place for coffee and beans in Puerto Vallarta. Wenceslas has been a fixture in the PV coffee scene for ages and is a great roaster and super nice guy. Small out of the way location definitely worth a visit.

Coffee lovers, please do yourself a favor and come here for the best coffee you’ll have in Puerto Vallarta. My biggest regret is not discovering this gem sooner. Cafe Oro Verde is definitely worth going out of your way for. The owner is incredibly nice and knowledgeable about coffee and he roasts in-house! In fact, you can see the roaster in the back of the cafe. Despite the pandemic, the drinks are priced very reasonably, especially for the quality of coffee you get! (Ugh, I’m still beating myself up for not discovering this place sooner...otherwise I would’ve visited every day that its open!) The hours might not be updated on Google, but it is currently operating MWF from 10am-1pm. Wenceslao (the owner) and his partner Julie roast the beans fresh every day that they’re open. Oh what a difference it makes in coffee! I ordered a large latte with almond milk (40 pesos total! Yes please!!) It was so delicious. It was made with the medium roast which I really enjoyed. It has smooth chocolatey notes. During normal times, I think you can sit inside this small cafe and enjoy your coffee as you watch people walk by. It looks like a great spot for people watching haha. I got ¼ kilo of light coffee beans and a ¼ kilo of medium coffee beans (which is about a pound total) for 125 pesos. Again, extremely reasonable prices for freshly roasted coffee beans. I can’t wait to come back and visit again--next time with friends and family. If it’s any local business to support, it’s this one! Truly, Cafe Oro Verde is not a place you want to miss out on. I highly recommend going out of your way to grab a cup of coffee and chat with Wenceslao if you get the chance. My heart is so full!

This place is the real deal, and Wenceslao was wonderfully entertaining as he prepared my coffee beans for the grinder. I asked for a half-pound of Obscuro ground to espresso, and have just made myself an after-dinner cup, and it's dark and rich and so much better than the schlock I've been drinking since I got here. I can't believe it's taken five trips to Puerto Vallarta before I discovered Cafe Oro Verde. Totally worth the half-hour walk from the northern hotel zone (or just a hop on a bus).

Our go to place for over 20 years for the best coffee in Vallarta. Wen roasts the beans to perfection and every cup is like magic. Add to that his funny stories and jokes and the people you meet from all over the world you have a true old Vallarta experience every time you visit. You must take a package or two home with you either for use here in your Vallarta home or for your abode back uo North.

You can smell the freshly roasted beans a block away from this sidewalk cafe. They roast multiple times a day and it is a terrific place to pick up beans. Iced mocha made with a Mexican chocolate bar and a custard filled pastry.

Awesome little coffee shop tucked off the main strip! We were really lucky to pass by this place and it was open. We walked in and had two of the best coffees we have had in PV! The beans are roasted on site and available to purchase and take home with you. We will be returning after breakfast to get a few bags to take with us. They will also grind the beans to your preferred consistency. I got the mocha which had Mexican chocolate melted into it. It was rich and delightful. My husband got a classic americano with milk and really enjoyed it. The owners are kind and passionate about their craft. Very friendly service. Sad we found it on our last day in town, but we will definitely be back on our next visit.

Cool hip coffee roaster located in 5 de Decembre neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta. Fantastic fresh roasted coffee sourced from Tupic Mexico. Thank you Wenseslaus for your medium roasted beans that make yummy Americanos and Espresso. Make Cafe de Oro Verde a must visit for coffee on your next visit to Puerto Vallarta
